A four star novel about one a Vermeer's most celebrated painting. The autor shares a world and it traditions with us as a 16 year old girl becomes one of the maids in Vermeer's home after her family has been struck poor.
The tale of how the painting was created and the passion that he and his subject have is beautifully told.
I give it a PG 17 rating. I know, I know, I made a new rating up but it fits.
